Chief Executive Officer
Kailash is a successful entrepreneur and senior executive with more than 20 years experience in the software and services industries. Prior to joining Waterline Data, he was the CEO of Actiance, the leading provider of information governance, compliance and archiving software, where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors. He pivoted the company from an on-prem, perpetual license business serving a niche market to a subscription and SaaS business addressing the $4 billion archiving and eDiscovery markets. Kailash was able to grow annual recurring revenue nearly 70% in 2017 resulting in a successful strategic sale of the company.
Prior to joining Actiance, Kailash was COO of Genesys Conferencing, the global provider of audio, video and web conferencing and collaboration services with 2002 revenues of $210M. As COO, Kailash was responsible for all front office operations worldwide, including sales, marketing, service, and regional P&L. Before his tenure at Genesys, Kailash co-founded Astound Incorporated, a leading venture-backed player in the emerging web conferencing and collaboration market, and served as Chairman and CEO until it was acquired by Genesys Conferencing.
Before Astound, Kailash founded and ran several software companies in the consumer and business productivity arena, including Gold Disk Inc., a venture-backed provider of video editing and multimedia authoring tools for the Windows PC.
Kailash is a graduate of McMaster University where he received a Master of Science in Theoretical Astrophysics and a Bachelor of Science in Theoretical Physics, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Founder and Chief Technical Officer
Waterline is Alex’s 3rd startup. Prior to Waterline Data, Alex served as General Manager of Informatica’s Data Quality Business Unit, driving Marketing, Product Management and R&D for an $80M business. Alex joined Informatica from IBM, where he was an IBM Distinguished Engineer for the Information Integration team. IBM acquired Alex’s second startup, Exeros, where he was founder, CTO and VP of Engineering.
Previously, Alex was co-founder, CTO and VP of Engineering at Acta Technology which was subsequently acquired by Business Objects. Prior to founding Acta, Alex managed development of Replication Server at Sybase and worked on Sybase’s strategy for enterprise application integration (EAI).
Alex holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University School of Engineering and a M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
SVP, Worldwide Sales
Ed comes to Waterline Data with more than 30 years experience in the technology industry. Ed comes to Waterline Data from VCE, where he was a Vice President of Sales. He joined the company when they were two years old and was instrumental in growing his business to over $500M prior to their acquisition. While at VCE, Ed was instrumental in driving both operational excellence, new customer acquisition, and sales productivity. Ed came to VCE after a very successful career at Oracle where he was an Area Vice President at Oracle in the Technology and Business Intelligence Applications business units. Prior to that Ed held positions in Sales and Marketing with Siemens AG and IBM. Ed is a graduate of Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
Chief Marketing Officer
Prior to joining Waterline, Venkat held the roles of both CTO and Vice President of Engineering at DataGuise. Before Dataguise, he managed SpikeSource’s distributed platform engineering team responsible for automating product development and testing a cloud infrastructure. Venkat also served at Oracle in various leadership and executive positions over 13 years. Most notably, he ran Oracle’s Database and Server Products R&D center in India at which time the center doubled in size to nearly 2,000 engineering staff in less than two years. Venkat also spearheaded the process related to product security emerging into an Oracle standard for all server products while overseeing key relationships with Oracle’s large global customers and partners including NEC and Fujitsu.
Venkat holds a Bachelor’s Degree in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, India.
Head of India Operations
Prior to Waterline Data, Akkiraju Bhattiprolu was Head of Product at Hooper Labs, where he built a mobile-based client engagement platform for small and medium enterprises. With experience spanning over two decades, Akki has worked at enterprises such as IBM, Tandem, PeopleSoft, ADP, and Broadridge. At PeopleSoft CA, he built Cube Manager in their flagship BI suite. He managed R&D teams at ADP India for their Solutions Group. At Broadridge India, he led teams to deliver clearance and settlement solutions. An entrepreneur at heart, he founded two social startups: YAssume and MakeMyDabba. His areas of specialization are business intelligence, agile development methodologies, and systematic innovation. Akki has a Masters in Computer Applications from the University of Hyderabad.
SVP of Product
Mohan comes to Waterline Data from Narus (Cybersecurity subsidiary of Boeing) where he was the SVP of Products and Business Development responsible for the big data cybersecurity suite of products. Prior to this, he served as VP and GM of the cloud services broker business unit at Intel Corporation, through the acquisition of Aepona. His experience also includes serving as the SVP of marketing at Synchronous (through acquisition of FusionOne) where he managed marketing, business development, products and the patent portfolio. Mohan has also held leadership positions at Trimble, Openwave Systems, Schlumberger and Nortel. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Queens University in Canada and an MBA from Columbia University.
SVP of Product Marketing
VP of Finance
Jason joined Waterline with 15+ years of experience having served in many roles in finance for a variety of hi-tech firms. He was most recently at Pernixdata where he coordinated all annual financial planning, forecasting budgeting, pricing, cash flow management and ad hoc financial analysis for the firm prior to its acquisition by Nutanix. Before Nutanix, Jason held a variety of leadership positions in Finance with Tintri, Data Domain (acquired by EMC) and Yahoo. Jason holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BS in Finance and Economics from Cal State San Jose.
